The fun yet weary days of school are back! Most teens and/or young adults have little time to get ready in the morning, especially if your school starts at 7am. For these drastic timess, I have put together a fast and fresh look to use as a guideline. To create the effortless natural beauty look for your first day, follow the simple steps below.
Apply a foundation with a slight glow to it such as a liquid or powder mineral foundation. It should be light to medium coverage, in preferably the color that matches your skin tone best.
Next, invest in a multipurpose/universal color powder or cream that you can wear on your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Nars has a few good selections such as Laguna or Orgasm. Mahya Cosmetics also has a great mineral powder for this called Faye. Apply the product of your choice lightly on apples of cheeks, eye lids, and lips for an all around natural flush of color. By using one product to serve different purposes, this kills the time it takes to get ready in half.
Finally use a black mascara that will provide length and volume to your lashes such as L'Oreals Volume Mascara.
If you have a couple more minutes, add depth to you face. Using a concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone, apply to center of your face sparingly: bridge of nose, under eyes, upper lip, and forehead. Second, use a bronzer and apply to hollows of cheeks, crease of eyes, and to sides of nose. Finally be sure all this is blended well and looks barely there. Trust me, it will make a difference.
Be confident and the true beauty will shine through!

J-Lo Inspired Makeup Tutorial: Innocent Bronze
Hello gals and guys! Thank you for coming back to read today's blog. This is a very requested and popular look that we will cover. It's the innocent look of summer bronze that Jennifer Lopez so often wears on a day to day basis. It's really quite easy and basic once explained. You can achieve this look with drugstore brands and higher end cosmetics as well but today I think I'll recommend the more purchase savvy brands such as Maybelline, Loreal, Covergirl, etc.
First to create the perfect glowy canvas and keep your foundation on for all day wear, apply a primer that is light in weight and with glowing properties such as Loreal's Studio Secrets Professional Face Anti-Dull Light Face Primer.
Next using a oil free water based foundation in your skin tone if not a shade darker, apply lightly concentrating on the problem areas that are uneven. Use a stippling brush for an airbrush appearance and light coverage. I suggest water based because it gives a great hydrated look to the skin and perfect for oily skin as well because it is oil free. I recommend Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation! It's their newest addition to their line and matches most skin tones well since they have a huge variety in foundation colors.
Now apply an eye primer to the base of your eyes to keep your eye shadow from creasing and to conceal any redness or darkness. Most eye primers work great but are not sold with every drug store brand so the easiest way to find one is to go to Sephora and buy their Urband Decay Primer Potion in Eden. It's $18 but lasts so long and works wonders!
With a flat brush, apply a light eyeshadow color in a beige undertone to just below your eyebrow and inner corner of your eyes by the tear duct. I recommend Covergirl's Enhancing Eyeshadow in Champagne. Any color you choose should be shiny but not glittery. Meaning it should have a nice sheen to it but not glitter particles that fall down when you apply, it should be a smooth texture.
Next using the same flat brush apply your lid shade. This color should be similar to your skin tone but one to two shades lighter. No glitter once again, only a nice sheen or shine. Try Milani's Bronze Doll Eyeshadow!
Now we need to add the definition shade in the crease with a crease or fluffy small brush. This color should be a brown with a cool undertone meaning more on the blue side and not too orange. For example use Revlon's Satin Eyeshadow in Shimmering Sienna. You can also sweep this color at the bottom lash line as well. I would prefer to use a more matte color because it looks better on camera but this will also look good. Just blend on three colors softly together and feather any harsh edges. You can do this with a fluffy crease brush.
Next with a dark matte brown shadow or black shadow, apply to the top lashline with an angle liner brush to help emphasize the thickness of your lashes and to complete the eyeshadow. Try using Loreal's Studio Secrets Eyeshadow in Lush Raven!
Now thicken your lashes with your favorite black mascara and apply a black liner to the water line if you want to create a more polished look! Lightly brush through your brows with a spoolie or brow brush. Add color if your brows are thin.
Next for bronzer, which is a must if your following the J-Lo tradition, use one that offers a nice tan and not too much shimmer or shine. A great bronzer I've used in the past is Physician's Formula Bronze Booster. Apply this to the hollows of your cheeks, sides of nose, near jaw line, and on temples of forehead.
J-Lo always goes for a more peach colored blush, especially in the picture shown above. For this I suggest Covergirl's Classic Blush in Natural Glow. Avoid any shimmer or shine since the bronzer already has a shine and this part of the cheeks typicallys is where you will get most oily so you want to keep this area matte if possible.
For lips, J-Lo's go to "can't live without" lipgloss is by Yves Saint Laurent called Pure Peach #47 and about $30 for a very small container. Sooo to avoid all costs of spending your gas money on lip color, try this product instead: Revlon Super Luster Lipgloss in Nude Lustre. Again, this is peach based to match the blush color and theme of this makeup look. Lipstick and lip liner can be used to help blend this shade if it's too nude for you or if you want the color to last longer.
This completes the look! I hope it was helpful to you all and I also hope you get the chance to try this tutorial out for yourself the next time your going somewhere special. Take care everyone and please comment if you you enjoyed this tutorial or if you have any looks I can create a blog for.

Tutorial: Quick & Easy Smokey Eye
Hey guys and dolls! So it's hot this summer for sure. Which of you want to spend lots of time applying makeup for just a movie night or quick outing with your friends? For those who wear full on makeup during this time of year, more love to ya. For those who are like me that rather do a simple 3 step and out the door look, read more to learn how to achieve a quick 3 step smokey eye.
First always prime your eyes with an eye primer. This allows your eye makeup to last longer through the day, appear more flawless and vibrant, and not crease which is very important. My favorite is MAC's Soft Ocre Paint Pot. It's a light yellow based skin tone color and goes on very smooth. I apply all over eye area, top and bottom, using my ring finger.
Using any color eye shadow that you would like your smokey eye to be, I typically just use a matte black shadow such as MAC's Carbon Eyeshadow, I apply over smudged liner with a small smudge brush or q-tip. This is one of the most important steps because it really keeps the smudged liner in place and sets it. Matte colors always seem to create the most beautiful smokey effect.
Now from here, it's up to you on how much more you would like to apply. You can add loads of black mascara to complete the look, then apply black liner on water line (inside eye rim), and more! Whatever time allows, right? I hope this tutorial was helpful and like always, please write us on Facebook or via email to let us know what blog tutorial you would like to read next. Stay beautiful and true to you ladies!

Beauty Secrets of India
With every culture, religion, and family having their beauty secrets...it's only natural that I share my two favorite tips from one of my favorite books: "India's Beauty Secrets". I hope you find this helpful and entertaining. Until next time, beauty starts from within!
Positive thinking of oneself goes a long way. Many scientists and cultures believe that are muscles and face movements portray what we feel inside. Most often the women who can brighten a room with her presence, is not because of her outward beauty, but the beauty on the inside that is shown through her emotions. The book states that to give the essence of beauty, start with feeling amazing inside and in return you will appear much more attractive.
Breathing properly can instantly give a glow to a woman's face. Many yoga instructors worldwide can agree that with controlled breathing, the vessels are allowing more oxygen to flow and it brings more centered energy to the body. Before you hold your breath to look skinny when "the hot guy" comes walking by, think of how dull and frigid your face must look at that very second.
Try these tips out next time your thinking of your appearance or simply your well being. They have been proven throughout the years to be very true and accurate. Thanks for reading today's blog and please send any requests you would like my next blog to be about.

Tutorial: Pin-Up Inspired Eye Makeup
Hello guys and gals! Today follow us on the journey in creating a timeless and beautiful look better known as the "Pin Up" look. This makeup style originated from the 1950's after the war took place. It was a fun era with lots of creativity in fashion, makeup, and hair. It's super easy and fast to do. Follow these simple steps below and in just a few minutes, you'll have the sexiest look of the century.
First prime your eyes with an eye primer. This allows your eye makeup to stay on longer without creasing through out the day and makes the eye shadow more vibrant. You can apply this with your finger or flat eyeshadow brush such as MAC's 249 Large Shader Brush. I personally use different eye primers but the two I use most are: Mahya's Eye Primer and MAC's Soft Ocre Paint Pot.
Next using a flesh tone eye shadow such as Nude from Mahya Cosmetics, apply this from lid all the way up to brow bone. You can use an all over eyeshadow brush such as MAC's 213 Fluff Brush.
With a natural light brown eye shadow such as Bamboo by MAC, apply this just to the crease in windshield wiper motion. You can do this best with a MAC 217 Blending Brush.
Taking your best black liquid or gel liner, apply to the top lash line as thin as possible at the inner corner of eye and thicker as you take it out to the outer part of eye. To create a thick wing, create a triangle at the tip of your outer corner and fill it in. The most recommended gel liner would be Clinique's Cream Liner. The most recommended liquid liner is Smashbox's Pen Liner.
With a volumonous black mascara such as MAC's Zoom Lash Mascara, apply heavily to the top lashes.
Be sure to fill in your brows thick at the front and thin at the end. Use an eyeshadow similar to your hair color and a brow brush to do this. In small short strokes, tap on the product. This really frames the face and completes the eye look. The best brush to do this is MAC's 208 Brush.
The bottom of your eyes is up to you. You can leave it untouched or apply a light coat of mascara. The original pin up look does not include eye makeup at the bottom but hey, it's up to you!
Hopefully this was helpful and I would love to create a look especially for you! Email or post a comment on our Facebook Page to let us know which look you would like to see explained next. Until next time, stay beautiful inside and out!
Love,
Renee
